(and by ‘just in’ I mean I found out about 9 hours ago but have only just found time to blog about it now.)

As I Lie Dying’s frontman, Tim Lambesis, has had his bail lowered from 3 million dollars to 2 million, though his defense attorney are still trying to get it lowered more, to sit at approximately $250,000 as Warrick claims his client will never be able to come up with that kind of money, despite it already being decreased significantly.

Earlier today Tim Lambesis returned to the Vista Supreme Court for a bail hearing in relation to his current alleged murder-for-hire case and new information surfaced during the process.

According to UTSanDiego, Tomas Warrick argued that his client, who had gotten heavily into healthy eating, bodybuilding and taking nutritional supplements, also began taking steroids which he got from other people attending his gym. According to Lambesis he went from weighing 170 pounds to just over 220 pounds in a short period of time.

Thomas Warrick claims ‘he was a very caring, gentle man [before taking the steriods] and we need to get him back. Lambesis is now described by friends as being ‘irritated’ and being ‘far from’ or ‘without’ God.’ ‘[Tim’s] thought processes were devastatingly affected by his steroid use” says Thomas Warrick. He is now ‘not the same person.’ A forensic psychiatrist contacted by the defense attorney stated the vocalist is suffering from ‘roid rage’, a trait found among long term steroid users with previous history with mood swings or aggression. Lambesis’ attorney is pinning his ‘roid rage’ on being a main factor contributing to his recent outrageous behaviour against his wife.

Tim Lambesis has been behind bars since the first week of May and will continue to stay there for the time being. Lambesis was initially arrested for attempting to hire a hitman to murder his wife, who ended up being an undercover detective. Tim and his estranged wife Meggan were married for 8 years, whom shared together 3 children adopted from Ethiopia. According to the prosecutor Tim sent his wife emails last summer claiming he no longer loved her and no longer believed in God. Some time after this she found out that Tim was also having affairs whilst they were still together, thus filing for divorce in September 2012.

Tim Lambesis of As I Lay Dying, court case updates:

According to a spokesperson from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, Tim is being offically charged with Solicitation Of Another To Commit Murder. Information reached the Sheriffs department last week claiming that Lambesis was seeking out another individual to harm his estranged wife of 8 years, Meggan, which forced special investigation divisions of the Sherrifs department to act immediately.

According to close friends of the musician he has been over indulging financially and spending a lot of his time focusing on body building. Meggan even went as far as to claim that he has been overly distracted while his three children (that they adopted together), were in his custody. She claims he fell asleep while they were in his care near a swimming pool at a hotel he was staying at. Sources have claimed that while Lambesis was spending so much time at the gym he was arranging with other attendees to find a hit man to kill his wife. The Sherrifs department arranged for an undercover agent to meet Lambesis under the alias ‘Red’ to get confirmation on his plans to assassinate his wife.

According to his prosecuters Lambesis gave motive as to why he wanted to harm Meggan, stating that it would be better for them to have a good relationship with only one parent then to have a poor relationship with both. Tim Lambesis gave the undercover detective $1000, along with a photo of Meggan, addresses, security codes to access her property and dates as to when he would have the children in his custody for them to murderer his wife, allowing her to be alone, and for him to have an alibi.

According to the DA audio recordings of the transactions between Red and Lambesis do exist and will no doubt surface as the case continues. A preliminary court date has been set for July 10.

Bail has been set at $3 million, despite prosecturs attempts at having it set at $20 million as Tim is a ‘flight risk’ and a ‘danger to the public.’ Meggan Lambesis is claiming that she now greatly fears for her life as she’s unaware of how many other hits Tim may have organised prior to being arrested.

Lambesis’ bandmates, reps from management and Metal Blade Records along with band attorney Ian Friedman were in attendance at court today, according to alternative press. The remaining members of Lambesis’ band have released a statement which reads as follows;

As we post this, the legal process is taking it’s course and we have no more information than you do. There are many unanswered questions, and the situation will become clearer in the coming days and weeks. We’ll keep you informed as best we can.

Our thoughts right now are with Tim, his family, and with everyone else affected by this terrible situation - and with our fans, whom we love and draw strength from.

Fans of the band have gone to social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter to express their support towards the bands frontman. Many of which are claiming that he is ‘innocent until proven guilty’. According to Ken Leighton, who had interviewed Lambesis several times over the years for the San Diego Reader, “People are finding this really hard to believe. He had a lot of respect in the metal and Christian music industries. It just doesn’t add up.” NBC San Diego however insists that Lambesis emailed his wife in August, expressing his lack of faith in his religion.

CBS have released that Tim Lambesis pleaded not guilty at his arraingment today, though prosecuters are claiming to have this hard evidence against him. If Lambesis meets bail he will have his passport stripped and will only be able to travel in the San Diego area or the LA region to meet his lawyer.
